Finally relief to islands’ students, NIT seats to continue as previous years

Port Blair, July 29: The Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray had a meeting with the Hon’ble Union Minister of Human Resources Development, G.O.I in the Lok Sahba on 27-07-2010 in which he discussed the matter of continuation of allotment of 44 Nos. Supernumerary Engineering seats in the NITs for the students of A&N Islands.
Shri B.P Ray had already taken up the matter relating to the reduction of engineering seats in the NITs from 44 to 10 to the A&N students, which made them panic. He has taken up the same with Shri Kapil Sibal, Hon’ble Union Minister of Human Resources Development. G.O.I on 7th July 2010 and had personal discussions with the concerned authorities of the Ministry of Human Resources of Engineering seats for the year 2010-11, as were done in the past years.
On 27-07-2010 on his personal meeting with Shri Kapil Sibal, in the Lok Sabha, it was promised to continue the allotment of 44 Engineering seats in NITs for the academic year 2010-11.
