Port Blair, Aug. 9: An awareness cum motivation session was conducted in the premises of Panchayat hall, Herbatabad by ARPAN for construction of vermi-compost units. Altogether 25 farmers and PRI members of Herpatabad village attended the session. 
 
The Chief Guest Shri. Mahadev Majhi. Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Tushnabad while exhorting the efforts of ARPAN in bringing the organic mission of Agriculture department to the grass root level urged the farmers to take up Organic farming in a big way. He also highlighted on the ill effects of Chemical fertilizers. 
 
Resource person from Hi-Tech Horticulture Shri. Mohd Elyas delivered effective presentation on the bad effects of Chemical fertilizers on living beings and nature. The session was followed by one on one interaction with the progressive farmers of the area. The program was attended by Shri.Yousuf Khan, AFA and Shri. NM Bashir, Chairman, ARPAN.
