Member of Parliament Requests Lt. Governor to Appoint Him As Member of A&N UTHM PDF Print E-mail

Port Blair, Aug. 18: The Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray in a letter to the Lt. Governor urged him to include his name in the Steering Committee of A&N Union Territory Health Mission owing to the demand placed by the public residing in the rural areas.
 
The Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray after reviewing the present stage of implementation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “THE NATIONAL RURAL HEALTH MISSION” (NRHM) found that the functioning of the NRHM in this Territory is Controlled by the A&N UT Health Mission (A&N UTHM) through three subordinate Societies namely District Health Society, South Andaman Dist., Dist. Health Society, M&N Andaman, Dist. Health Society, Nicobar District, and Rogi Kalian Samities for Hospitals and at the village level by Village Health Sanitation Committees.
 
Ray therefore appealed to the Lt. Governor that considering his awareness of the public problems at the grass root level especially with the rural populace and he being the only Public Elected Representative of these Islands, his membership to the steering Committee of the A&N UTHM and in all three Sub-ordinate Societies under the A&N State Health Society shall boost the achievement of target up to the grass root level.
 
The request was made to the Lt. Governor who is the Chairman, Steering Committee A&N UTHM and the Chief Secretary, as the Chairman, Governing Body, A&N State Health Society.
