Veteran Journalist Paras Ram Passes Away PDF Print E-mail

Port Blair, Aug 20: Veteran Journalist and the founder Editor of “The Light of Andamans”, Shri Paras Ram (84) passed away at his residence at Dugnabad due to cardiac arrest last night. He is survived by his wife, Smt. Kiran Kumari, also a Journalist. Shri Paras Ram was honoured by the UP Govt. as also by the Small and Medium Newspaper Federation, New Delhi for his consistent and bold Journalism in remote areas like A&N Islands.

Meanwhile, a wreath was laid on the body of the veteran Journalist on behalf of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration. Later, he was cremated and the funeral was participated by a cross section of the people from different walks of life.

The Ex-MP and President, A&N Trinamool Congress, Shri Manoranjan Bhakta along with senior party leaders have mourned the death of Shri Paras Ram. They also offered their condolences to his wife Smt. Kiran Kumari.

Shri Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, ANTCC and other senior leaders of Congress Party have mourned the demise of Shri Paras Ram, who was also President, Senior Citizen Forum. The leaders also extended their heartfelt sympathy bereaved family members.
