Port Blair, Aug. 30: During the course of an Anti Poaching operation conducted on the high seas off the Bara Baalu area near Tirur by the staff of PS Ograbraj on 28th August, 2010 one Myanmarese national namely Rai Mai Aung, s/o Late Ma Aei Taung, aged 24 yrs, R/o Irrawady, Myanmar sustained a gunshot injury. He was immediately evacuated to PHC Tushnabad and after receiving first aid there, was shifted to the G.B. Pant Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
Upon getting a call from the medical authorities that the injured Mayanmarese national was in need of blood, over a dozen personnel from the executive police and the IRBn rushed to the hospital to donate blood as volunteers. A total of 9 units of blood has been donated for the injured Myanmarese national out of which 5 units has been transfused.
The above act of A&N Police manifests the highest traditions of Policing and indicates that even though it is ready to take up arms to secure our territory from the scourge of transnational poachers it is always ready to put its best foot forward in the humanitarian cause of saving a precious life.
