DoE issues stricture to Principals, School Heads not to refuse admission

Port Blair, Aug 31: The Department of Education (DoE) has issued a stricture directing all the Principals and Head of Institutions to admit all the students who come from their respective jurisdiction and feeder schools and not to refuse such admission in class IX standard in govt. run schools & to those students who passed through their compartment examination. The stricture comes in the wake of denial of admission to such students even after passing their compartment examination, which is to be followed strictly, a communication from the Asst. Director of Edn. (Admn.) said here today. Accordingly, from now onwards no students, who have passed their compartment examination, will be denied admission in class XI in govt. run schools in the islands.
