Port Blair, Sept. 1: The Institute of Technology and Future Management Trend (ITFT), Education Group, Chandigarh has reserved 50 seats for the tribal youth of Andaman & Nicobar Islands after +2 for Bachelor’s University Degree Course for the academic year 2010-2011. The full fees etc shall be met out of fund under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Post Matric Scholarship of the GOI, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The Tribal Welfare department, A & N Administration will bear the expenses towards to and fro journey and boarding and lodging charges during transit. 50 Nicobari students were recommended for the said course. Only 28 Nicobari students (23 students of Car Nicobar and 5 students of Nancowry) willingly availed the opportunity and they were given warm send off at Youth Hostel, Port Blair. The students with their Liaison Officers proceeded to ITFT, Chandigarh by M.V. Nicobar on 29.08.2010. Shri. M.R Trivedi, Assistant Commissioner (TW), Shri. Jamil Baksh, Senior Research Officer of Tribal Welfare Department and Shri. Lucas Robert, Director of Sports Art & Culture interacted with the Nicobari students at the Youth Hostel and wished them success. The students were asked to study hard and come out with flying colours.
