Port Blair, Sept. 1: The President Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Trinamool Congress Committee (ANTTCC) Shri Manoranjan Bhakta during his recent visit to New Delhi had met the Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Shri Dinesh Trivedi and briefed him about the pathetic situation of health care in Kishorinagar village. Shri Manoranjan Bhakta placed before him the issue of Primary Health Centre at Kishorinagar, Diglipur, which was constructed almost one and a half years ago but is yet to be inaugurated.

The President ANTTCC said that the Govt. of India has launched the National Rural Health Mission to ensure proper health care to the rural populace, but it was shocking to note that in the name of Health Care, there is only a haunted building named as Primary Health Centre. There are no doctors and medical staff posted in the area to cater to the needs of the villagers, who basically hail from very poor families.

Shri Manoranjan Bhakta also said that it is unfortunate that the Zilla Parishad and NRHM together were not able to initiate any steps to provide health care to the poor villagers. The President therefore requested the Minister of State to personally visit the spot for his perusal and to order an immediate inquiry for such a negligent and irresponsible act by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration.
