Mayabunder, Sept 2: A five-day training programme on ‘mechanized paddy transplanter’ was organized by the Agriculture Department, Mayabunder under ATAMA scheme at Rampur village recently. The Senior Veterinary Officer, Mayabunder, Dr. NP Singh was the chief guest of the inaugural function. He urged the farmers to increase the production of food grains and also to adopt mechanized farming for contributing to the agricultural growth rate of country. 
 
The Joint Director of Agriculture, N&M Andaman, Shri Anjan Kumar Das informed of the advantages of mechanized farming over traditional methods besides the schemes implemented and subsidies provided by Agriculture Department. Earlier, the Asstt. Director (Agri), Shri RY Singh welcomed the gathering. The Agriculture Asstt., Shri MK Sreedas and Shri Bikash Gain, a farmer of Basantipur village were the resource persons. Altogether, 35 farmers of Rampur village participated in this training programme.
