Port Blair, Sept 2: As part of Teacher’s Day celebration, the Directorate of Education organized inter-school/ office/ institution volleyball tournament for ladies and gents teacher’s and staff working in the Dept. of Education. Total 9 teams participated in the volleyball tournament organized today at Multipurpose hall, Netaji Stadium. Shri Shashi Kumar, Asst. Dir. Edn. (Plg) was the chief guest during the final matches of volleyball. In his blessing address the chief guest appreciated the interest of the teaching community and advised the teacher’s to continue such activities for physical fitness.
 
The Directorate of Edn. volleyball team defeated GSSS Port Mout team to lift the men’s championship trophy while GSS Junglighat volleyball team defeated GSSS Girls to lift the championship trophy.
 
Meanwhile, inter school, tug of war for (men), table tennis singles and doubles for men and women section will be organized in Netaji Stadium Complex and Andaman Club, Netaji Stadium respectively on Sept 2 from 8 am.
