Manoranjan Bhakta Mourns the Sad Demise of P.L.D. Roy 
 
Port Blair, Sept. 3: Shri Manoranjan Bhakta, Ex. Member of Parliament and President A&N Territorial Trinamool Congress Committee (ANTTCC), Working Presidents and other senior leaders of the Trinamool Congress, A&N Islands have deeply mourned the sad demise of Shri P.L.D. Roy, veteran journalist and Editor ‘Andaman Wave’. 
 
In a condolence message, Shri Manoranjan Bhakta said, “I am shocked at the sudden demise of Shri P.L.D. Roy, Editor Andaman Wave. He was an author, scholar and one among the senior most persons in the islands. Shri Roy was born in the Ross Island on 12.09.1917 when his father used to work as a government servant during the British regime. Subsequently he had his education and was born and brought up in the islands. He was a member of the Royal Geographical Society of England, which was a rare honour the Islands had. 
 
Shri P.L.D. Roy was in government service in the cooperative society and later served the Andaman & Nicobar Administration under various capacities. After his retirement he was serving as the Editor of Andaman Wave”. 
 
The Ex. Member of Parliament Shri Manorajnan Bhakta, Editor Deep Bani, today went to his residence and subsequently to the Seva Niketan were his body was kept for people to pay homage. Shri Bhakta later went to the Junglighat crematorium, were the body of Shri P.L.D Roy was cremated.
