Administration Sounds Caution on Fake Land Revenue Receipt PDF Print E-mail

Port Blair, Sept 5: The South Andaman District Administration has sounded a note of caution on fake land revenue receipt being issued by unscrupulous elements which it said, may cause serious loss to the original recorded tenant in these islands. A press note issued by the SDO (SA) said, the receipt of land revenue is issued in Form ‘Z’ under rule 148 of the A&N Islands Land Revenue & Land Reforms Rules, 1968 read with section 117 (1) of the A&N Islands Land Revenue and Land Reforms Regulation 1966. 
 
The Patwaris, Choudharis and office staff authorized by the Tehsildar receive the land revenue and issue receipts in Form ‘Z’. No other persons other than authorized staff, who are involved in such activities is unauthorized and is a criminal offense. The general public have been requested to be cautious and inform the revenue authorities if any such person is found involved in issuance of fake receipts of land revenue.
 
Meanwhile, the general public and recorded tenants have been asked to remit the land revenue on yearly basis with the Patwaris/ Choudharis or with the office staff of respective tehsils authorized by the Tehsildar. All are requested to be vigil and cooperate with Revenue authorities to nab the anti social elements involving in issuance of fake land revenue receipts.
