Second Round of Training for Election Duty Officials Held PDF Print E-mail

Port Blair, Sept. 9: The second round of training for the Presiding and Polling officers for the ensuing Municipal election was held in the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium here today. The Director of Panchayat and Municipal elections, Shri S.N. Jha reiterated to the officials placed on election duty of their duties and responsibilities as Presiding and Polling officers. They were also provided hands on training on operation of electronic voting machine (EVM), its preparation, utilization and sealing.
 
Later, training for the counting staff was also conducted in which the Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors of counting work elaborated about the counting process. 
 
Meanwhile, third round of training to polling personnel of Diglipur was imparted by Shri. Mohammed, ADM on 06.09.2010 in two shifts. A PowerPoint presentation on election procedure was made by Shri. K. Sunil Kumar, Tehsildar.
 
Training was also held at Mayabunder wherein Shri. Mohammed, ADM imparted training to election officials on 07.09.2010. Smt. Renu Sahni Dhar, Election Commissioner (UT) who was on tour to North & Middle Andaman also graced the occasion and addressed the polling personnel. Shri. Ashish More, Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andamans urged the officials to discharge their statutory duties efficiently and with responsibility.
 
Similar training was conducted for polling personnel of Rangat area in the evening at Community Hall, Rangat. A Power Point presentation was held.
 
The second batch of polling personnel of Rangat region was imparted training on 08.09.2010 at Baratang by Shri. Mohammed, ADM. 
 
During the training, interactive sessions were also held wherein the participants clarified their doubts and hands on training were also held.
