Port Blair, Sept. 9: In a meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party held at Rangat on 8th Sept. 2010, the National Secretary and Andaman Observer of BJP, Shri L.A. Ganeshan had alleged that the Trinamool Congress, which is newly launched in the islands is trying to create a communal situation in the islands. He also threatened publicly that the TMC by its name itself is a grass root level party and it would be easy for the BJP to uproot TMC from the soil of the islands.

Commenting on the public statement of Shri Ganeshan, the Working President, TMC, A&N Islands Shri Biswajit Lahiri said that the BJP is the only party who created communal crisis in the country and that they are still in the way of their own existence. The Working President further said that in the State of Tamil Nadu from where Shri L.A. Ganeshan hails, the BJP was not able to score even a single seat, right from the PRI to Lok Sabha.

Shri Biswajit Lahiri further said that it was also alleged by a leader of the BJP at Rangat, Shri Tarang Dhali, that the Member of Parliament Shri Bishnu Pada Ray had won the seat with the support of Shri L.A. Ganeshan but has joined the Trinamool. The Working President TMC countering Shri Dhali’s allegation said, “I am astonished that the statement against the Member of Parliament of BJP was made in the presence of the National Secretary, BJP but he remained mum over the matter. This clearly indicates that BJP itself is trying to push the Member of Parliament towards Trinamool and this speaks about the party”.
