Port Blair, Jan. 20: The State President BJP, Shri R. Mohan has objected to the action of the Lt. Governor to support a particular political party (Congress) during his recent visit to North & Middle Andaman. The party president said that the BJP too vouches for ATR, which is the lifeline of the islanders.

I met the Lt. Governor personally and requested him to accompany me during his travel plans on ATR so that I could show the difficulties of the villagers, Mohan said in a communication.

Mohan further communicated to the media that the speech of the Lt. Governor during public meetings held in North & Middle Andaman, wherein he is said to have supported a particular party is objectionable. Being the supreme authority such statements by him is never appreciated.

We have great respects for the Lt. Governor and this has been reflected many times through the media, Mohan said. I feel that the Lt. Governor should treat all political parties as equal and support their demands in the larger interest of the people, he added.
