Port Blair, Jan. 24: All India Radio, Port Blair will broadcast Hon’ble President Smti. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil’saddress to the nation on the eve of Republic Day at 7 pm and Lieutenant Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd) Bhopinder Singh’s address to the Islanders on the eve of Republic Day at 9.16 pm on 25th January 2012.
A special “Sarva Bhasha Kavi Sammelan” originated from AIR, Delhi will also be relayed from 2200 to 2400 hrs on 25th January 2012.
On 26th January 2012 from 8.30 am onwards there will be direct relay of flag unfurling ceremony and address to the Islanders by Lieutenant Governor Lt. Gen. Bhopinder Singh from Netaji Stadium. The commentators will be Shri Shibu George andShri Zakir Hussain. From 9.20 am onwards there will be Live broadcast of the Republic Day Parade and the Cultural Pageant from Rajpath , New Delhi.
