Port Blair, Jan. 27: A Head Constable under the A&N Police committed suicide while on duty. The incident took place yesterday 26th January 2012 after the Director General of Police had inaugurated a full-fledged Police Canteen at par with the Defence Canteens.

Head Constable Kheduram was posted in the Quarter Master Stores, which deals with all supplies made to the Police. Shocking part of the story is that just a year ago an Assistant Sub Inspector of A&N Police Late. N.C. Dakua posted in the same department ‘Quarter Master Store’ had committed suicide in a similar fashion.

According to the police a UD FIR has been registered in the case and investigation is on.

It comes as a surprise to all that when A&N Police is in its best phase of development, where no policemen are put under pressure of any sort, such incidents have occurred.
