Board of Sangeet Natak Akademi Agrees to Organise Festivals in A&N Islands

Port Blair, Dec. 16: Naresh Chander Lal, renowned theatre director of Andaman & Nicobar Islands has attended the General Council Meeting of Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi on 13th and 14th Dec. 2011 at Rabindra Bhawan New Delhi.

During the meeting Lal raised various proposals which includes: 1.To organise a National Drama Festival, 2. To organise a National Dance festival, 3. To organise National Music Festival, and 4. To organise a National Puppetry Festival in the islands. 

According to a communication, the board has agreed to organise these festivals in Andaman & Nicobar Islands and it will be placed in the next financial year plan.

MV Nicobar for Kolkata on Dec 21

Port Blair, Dec. 16: Due to administrative reasons the scheduled sailing of MV Nicobar for Kolkata via Mayabunder on 20.12.2011 (Tue) under voyage No. 569 has been postpone by a day. Now the vessel is planned to sail for Kolkata via Mayabunder on 21.12.2011 (Wed) instead of 20.12.2011 at 1000 hours from Haddo Wharf.
