MILAN 2012: Admiral Nirmal Verma to Address International Seminar

Port Blair, Feb. 2: An ‘International Maritime Seminar’ will be conducted on 03 Feb 12. The seminar will be inaugurated by Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM, the Hon'ble Lt Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Admiral Nirmal Verma, PVSM, AVSM, ADC, Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of the Naval Staff will deliver the Keynote Address.

The main theme of the maritime seminar is ‘Capacity Building Through Maritime Cooperation’ with ‘Cooperation framework for capacity building for undertaking regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Operations’ and ‘Maritime cooperation for ensuring unfettered use of the Seas’ being the two sub themes. The speakers on the first sub theme are Vice Admiral (Retd) Pradeep Kaushiva and Ambassador Hemant Kumar Singh. Talks on the second sub theme are being delivered by Lieutenant General (Retd) Prakash Menon and Mr. Euan Graham, of the RSIS, Singapore.
